What Dad told me years, and years ago:
As a child growing up in Boston Dad (Augustus Francis Crowley) sold newspapers and had other odd jobs in a effort to save money for college. His father told him that he would save his money but in fact, without Dad’s knowledge, spent it all. When Dad confronted his father the relationship turned bad and Dad left Boston, on his own at a very early age – I think he said about 15 or 16 years old he left home and moved to Imperial Valley.
