Muriel Brisbin Morrison said in a letter dated 18 March 1996 thatJames Sanks Brisbin was the son of Ezra and Margaret Packer Brisbin.General James Sanks Brisbin played a prominent part in the Indian warsand the Civil War. The Centre County Historical Society sent me aphotocopy from the Historical Society of Montana, Helena whichappeared in the Froid Tribune 2 March 1928 and closes with thefollowing: "General Brisbin is described as a rather portly man witha stentorian voice, very effective on the platform. His wife, who wasa beautiful woman, was a social leader. They had several daughtersjust growing into young womanhood at the time they were stationed inMontana. General Brisbin was transferred about 1885 or 1886 to theeast. He died at Philadelphia in 1892 at the age of 55. The articledoes not mention any lineage.
